Bring your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter to support students for the 2026/2027 school year! You’ll work closely with students, educators, and support teams to provide essential communication access and help foster inclusive classrooms.
Your assignment entails a consistent 37.5-hour workweek, starting August 3, 2026, and concluding May 28, 2027. Preferred placement will be at one of the local educational centers, including high schools, middle schools, and leadership academies.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Sign Language Interpreter certification
- Minimum score of 3.5 on the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA)
- Prior experience interpreting in educational settings is strongly preferred
- Strong command of American Sign Language (ASL) and the ability to facilitate clear, age-appropriate communication
- Reliability, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to student access
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, meetings, and school events for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure accommodations are met
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all state, local, and school district policies
- Support individualized learning needs and encourage participation
