Sign Language Interpreter in Bolingbrook, IL

Step into a rewarding contract position where your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter will support and empower young learners each day. This full-year opportunity spans from July 29 through May 25, providing a consistent schedule of 8:05 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. You'll work with students from early childhood through third grade, making a meaningful impact across mainstream classrooms, DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) environments, and collaborative sessions alongside dedicated service providers.

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting within educational settings
• Experience supporting students in mainstream and DHH classrooms

• Relevant certification or licensure in sign language interpretation is highly valued

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, peer interactions, and extracurricular activities for students EC-3rd grade
• Foster an inclusive environment by bridging communication between students, staff, and families
• Support the educational and social success of students with diverse needs
• Work with multiple students throughout the school day, adapting to various subjects and instructional styles
• Collaborate with educators and specialized teams to address individual goals and accommodations
