Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially in school environments
• Ability to effectively work with young children, particularly those with Autism or other communication needs
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation between the student, peers, and school staff during all academic and classroom activities
• Adapt interpreting techniques to the needs of a young learner with Autism
• Facilitate clear and meaningful communication, helping to ensure inclusion and engagement
• Support the student’s social and academic growth in a nurturing, respectful manner
• Partner with educators and specialists to help create an accessible learning environment
