Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Bonita Springs, FL

Step into a meaningful role as a Sign Language Interpreter, supporting the success of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing at a vibrant school in the Bonita Springs, FL area. Full-time opportunities are currently available across various grade levels—elementary, middle, and high school—providing essential communication access for learners and enabling their engagement within the classroom environment. This is an on-site position only, with no virtual opportunities.

Ideal candidates excel in educational settings, possess fluency in American Sign Language, and are committed to fostering inclusion within school communities. Using your expertise, you will provide both one-on-one and possible small group interpreting for students, collaborating closely with educational teams to remove communication barriers.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 3.0 EIPA score or higher, as required
• Experience interpreting for DHH students in a school setting preferred
• Available for full-time hours (up to 37.5 per week)
• Able to work on-site at a single school location
• Comfortable working with students across all grades
• Compliance with Florida fingerprint requirements, AHCA Clearinghouse verification, and timely credentialing

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver American Sign Language interpretation for classroom instruction, events, and activities
• Facilitate communication between students, staff, and peers
• Promote self-advocacy and independence for DHH students
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet student needs
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
