Qualifications & Experience:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a comprehensive understanding of interpreter ethics
• Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter within educational or similar environments
• Ability to provide clear, age-appropriate interpretation for students, teachers, and staff
• Familiarity with IEP processes and educational terminology is a plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Certification or licensure as required by state regulations

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into ASL (and vice versa), ensuring accurate and effective communication
• Support student engagement in classroom activities, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular events
• Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to identify and adapt to students' needs
• Assist in fostering an inclusive, supportive atmosphere for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
