Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support educational settings in Boston, MA. This travel position offers the opportunity to work across various schools, providing essential communication access for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating accurate and effective communication between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students, their peers, teachers, and staff
  • Interpreting classroom instruction, school events, and extracurricular activities in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Collaborating with educators and support staff to promote inclusive learning environments
  • Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
  • Adapting to different classroom settings and student needs with flexibility and cultural sensitivity

Qualifications and experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) at an advanced level
  • Prior experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
  • Knowledge of Deaf culture and educational terminology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel to multiple school sites within the Boston area
  • Relevant certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter is a plus
