As a full-time Sign Language Interpreter for the 2023-2024 academic year, you’ll foster accessible communication and help empower learners to reach their fullest potential. Opportunities are available at both the elementary and K-12 levels, with contract positions required to be onsite throughout the school year.

Two exciting positions are open:

• Work across three schools with grades K-12
• Or, support students within a single school serving grades K-4

Key Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills
• Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, students, and other staff
• Certification or authorization to interpret in a school environment (state requirements may apply)
• Flexibility and adaptability to work with students across various grade levels and abilities
• High level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality

Core Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear communication between students, educators, and school staff using ASL and other communication tools
• Interpret classroom lessons, activities, assemblies, and extracurricular programs
• Support student comprehension, engagement, and participation in all aspects of the school experience
• Collaborate with teaching teams to tailor support for individual student needs
• Promote a culture of inclusivity and respect for all learners
