The first position spans three schools, serving K-12 students, while the second focuses on one K-4 elementary school. As a valued team member, you'll facilitate communication for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students within classroom environments, supporting academic growth and inclusion. Your passion and skills will help bridge communication gaps and empower students to thrive.
Desired experience and qualifications:
- Valid national or state certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent credential)
- Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably K-12 or elementary
- Strong understanding of classroom culture and the needs of Deaf/hard-of-hearing students
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and administration
- Professionalism, adaptability, and a commitment to student success
Key responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality interpretation services in classrooms and school-wide events
- Foster accessible communication between students, educators, and peers
- Support individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodation needs
