In this full-time role (32.5 hours per week), you’ll provide one-on-one assistance, tutoring, and comprehension support to students, fostering the growth of their American Sign Language (ASL) vocabulary and ensuring access to educational content. You’ll collaborate closely with educational staff to tailor communication strategies that meet the unique needs of each student. The role focuses on individual student success and adapting approaches in a dynamic school setting.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in American Sign Language is required.
- Experience working in a school environment is highly preferred.
- RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) and/or EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) certification is preferred but not mandatory for consideration.
- Strong communication skills, patience, and adaptability.
- Ability to quickly establish rapport with students and staff.
