Key qualifications and experience:

• Certified Sign Language Interpreter
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Background working with Grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
• Ability to interpret in educational environments and adapt communication to various age groups
• Collaborative spirit for teaming with general education and special education staff
• Flexible and resourceful approach to classroom support

Primary responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken and signed communication for students, educators, and peers during class, assemblies, and extracurricular activities
• Facilitate clear understanding of instructional material across all grade levels
• Collaborate with teachers to support students’ learning objectives
• Serve as an ASL teacher, providing language development assistance and enrichment instruction as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in line with school and district protocols
