Make a difference in students’ lives by providing essential communication support as a Sign Language Interpreter. Work directly with students in grades K-12, with a primary focus on high school. This contract role offers an engaging opportunity to facilitate educational access in a dynamic school environment located near Broken Arrow, OK.

In this position, you’ll have the chance to provide one-on-one support—with options for both full-time and part-time schedules. You’ll collaborate with school staff to help a high school student with significant needs, including occasionally accompanying the student to a nearby building for additional services. Schedules range from approximately 35 to 37.5 hours, Monday through Friday for full-time, or part-time hours on Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:40 AM to 4:15 PM.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

  • EIPA score of 4.0+ or RID/NAD certification required
  • Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) Level III or higher
  • At least 2 years of experience in sign language interpreting preferred
  • Experience working within K-12 educational settings, particularly with grades 6-12, is a plus
  • Flexibility to move between buildings with the student as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality sign language interpretation for a high school student with severe and profound needs, ensuring understanding and engagement during all instructional activities
  • Facilitate effective communication between the student, peers, and instructional staff
  • Provide support as the student transitions between classrooms and locations for specialized support
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
