Bring your expertise in American Sign Language to support students in a dynamic educational environment near Broken Arrow, OK. We’re seeking a committed Sign Language Interpreter to work on a contract basis in local schools, offering vital 1:1 support to students across a range of grade levels—from elementary through high school.

The role offers two opportunities:

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday (35-37.5 hours), providing dedicated 1:1 interpretation for a high school student.
  • Part-time, Monday, Thursday, and Friday, assisting a high school student with severe and profound needs. You’ll accompany this student to another nearby building (less than a mile from the main high school) for additional support. The schedule runs from approximately 8:40 AM to 4:15 PM.

Ideal candidates possess:

  • EIPA score of 4.0 or higher, or RID/NAD certification
  • Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) Level III or higher
  • Preferably at least two years of experience in sign language interpretation
  • Strong experience working with students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12
  • Flexibility and confidence to work both independently and collaboratively with educational staff
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive, accessible learning atmosphere

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing real-time sign language interpretation during classroom instruction and school activities
  • Assisting students in both academic and social situations
  • Traveling with students as needed within a close radius for further instructional support
  • Collaborating with teachers and school personnel
  • Demonstrating professionalism and cultural sensitivity at all times
