Job Type Contract

Step into a meaningful role providing critical support as a Sign Language Interpreter for a Kindergarten classroom. You'll work alongside dedicated educators to help young students new to American Sign Language (ASL) build the communication skills that will shape their academic journey. This contract opportunity spans the entire 2026-2027 school year, with a schedule designed for balance—half-day shifts, every day, from August through June, with the possibility of extending into future years.

In this position, you’ll introduce and reinforce foundational ASL vocabulary as students take their first steps in sign language. With a focus on basic communication rather than complex interpreting, you’ll foster inclusion, understanding, and early language development in a supportive environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting students in an educational setting as a Sign Language Interpreter
  • Comfortable with elementary-level ASL—complex signing is not required
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers to adjust communication strategies as students learn
  • Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and a nurturing approach
  • Relevant certification or licensure as required by state guidelines

Responsibilities:

  • Provide real-time SLI support to Kindergarten students learning ASL
  • Facilitate clear communication between students, peers, and staff
  • Adapt to students’ pace and encourage confidence in their language use
  • Aid instructional activities that integrate sign language and visual learning
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to team meetings as requested

Enjoy the advantage of a consistent half-day schedule, enabling work-life balance while making a tangible difference. In addition to a highly competitive pay structure, you’ll have access to comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.

If you’re passionate about supporting young learners and have the skills to bring language to life, apply today for an enriching contract role with real impact!
