Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3.5 EIPA score (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment)
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience providing sign language interpretation within school settings, particularly at the high school level
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt communication styles
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver realtime sign language interpretation between the student, peers, and staff in various classroom and campus contexts
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to facilitate effective communication and learning
  • Assist in adapting educational materials to suit student’s needs
  • Accurately interpret and relay spoken and signed information
  • Support student participation in classroom activities, discussions, and school events
  • Uphold ethical standards and comply with all professional guidelines
