Desired Qualifications:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting abilities in educational settings
• Experience working with high school students, especially those who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Ability to facilitate effective communication between students, staff, and faculty
• Comfortable working full-time hours on campus for the duration of the school year
• Professionalism, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit

Responsibilities:

• Provide daily in-person interpretation for a high school student during classes and school activities
• Work alongside teachers and support staff to ensure full accessibility for the student
• Interpret classroom discussions, directions, and school events as needed
• Adjust interpreting approach to match the student’s needs and learning pace
• Support the student’s integration into both academic and extracurricular programs
• Maintain confidentiality and promote an inclusive environment
