Desired Qualifications:
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting abilities in educational settings
- Experience working with high school students, especially those who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Ability to facilitate effective communication between students, staff, and faculty
- Comfortable working full-time hours on campus for the duration of the school year
- Professionalism, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily in-person interpretation for a high school student during classes and school activities
- Work alongside teachers and support staff to ensure full accessibility for the student
- Interpret classroom discussions, directions, and school events as needed
- Adjust interpreting approach to match the student’s needs and learning pace
- Support the student’s integration into both academic and extracurricular programs
- Maintain confidentiality and promote an inclusive environment
