1:1 10th Grade Sign Language Interpreter in Cambridge, MA

This contract role offers the opportunity to work one-on-one, helping bridge communication and ensuring full access to the classroom experience for the student.

Key Qualifications:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills
• Previous experience working with children or adolescents, ideally in a school environment
• Familiarity with 1:1 pediatric interpreting, especially supporting high school students
• Ability to adapt communication styles to meet individual needs
• Professionalism, confidentiality, and reliable attendance

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear communication between the 10th-grade student and teachers, peers, and staff using sign language
• Interpret classroom instruction, group discussions, and school activities with accuracy and impartiality
• Support the student’s participation in all aspects of the school day, both academic and social
• Collaborate regularly with teachers and support staff to ensure seamless integration
• Maintain documentation as required by the educational team
• Uphold the ethical standards of interpreting in an educational setting
