Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (EIPA, RID, or equivalent preferred)
  • Experience providing interpreting services in educational settings
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptability skills
  • Passion for supporting student learning and inclusion

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, meetings, and events for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Facilitate clear communication between students, educators, and staff
  • Support individualized education goals and promote an inclusive learning environment
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
  • Adapt interpreting style to suit various content areas and age groups
