This assignment runs from September 10th, 2026, through May 26th, 2027, offering consistent full-time hours—7:30am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday. Working one-on-one with a 5th grade student in a general education classroom, you’ll be essential in facilitating communication and fostering an inclusive environment. Your expertise will help bridge the gap, ensuring full access to educational resources and enriching the student’s learning experience.

Essential qualifications for this role include:

  • Active GaPSC Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Educator Certification
  • Completion of district fingerprinting process before starting
  • Previous work experience providing sign language interpreting services in a school setting (highly preferred)
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and a passion for working with children
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate with teaching staff

Your primary responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one sign language interpretation for a 5th grade male student in classroom settings
  • Support the student’s participation in classroom activities and school routines
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to address communication needs and support academic success
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all interactions
