Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Chehalis, Washington

Desired Qualifications:

• Current certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or state credential)
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and in providing interpretation in classroom settings
• Prior experience working with school-age children or in educational settings a plus
• Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to varied assignments and schedules

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language to ASL (and vice versa) during classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities
• Support students’ understanding of curriculum content, classroom discussions, and social interactions
• Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) teams
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information
• Adapt interpreting techniques to meet individual student needs and learning levels
