A skilled Sign Language Interpreter is needed to support educational settings in Cherry Hill, NJ. This travel position involves providing communication access for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within various school environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of American Sign Language (ASL) and educational interpreting, ensuring effective communication between students, teachers, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate clear and accurate communication between Deaf or Hard of Hearing students and their peers, educators, and school personnel
  • Interpret lectures, classroom discussions, school events, and extracurricular activities in real time
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to support inclusive learning environments
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
  • Travel between school locations as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
  • Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school or educational setting preferred
  • Certification or credentials in sign language interpreting highly desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in diverse environments
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel to multiple school sites

Location: This role requires travel within the Cherry Hill, NJ area, supporting various schools as assigned.
