Sign Language Interpreter in Chesapeake, VA

Make a meaningful difference every day by supporting students as a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter in the Virginia Beach area. This full-time, contract opportunity will have you working one-on-one with elementary-age students throughout the school year, playing a vital role in their educational journeys. You’ll collaborate with educational teams and move between campuses if your assigned student is absent, ensuring all interpreting needs are met with flexibility and professionalism.

What we’re looking for:

• Valid VA Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III certification
• EIPA Score of 3.5 or higher strongly preferred (district will consider candidates with a 3.0+ for interviews), or QAS Score of 3 or better
• Experience supporting school-aged children, particularly at the elementary level, is a plus
• Comfortable working in a dynamic educational environment, providing coverage as needed
• Proficiency in Visaphonics preferred, though not required
• Strong communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills
• Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday (35 hours per week) from August 25, 2026, to June 15, 2027
