Skills & Experience Sought:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Proven experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially within school environments
- Understanding of the unique needs of young learners
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
- Professionalism and reliability in maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret spoken language to American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa for a kindergarten student throughout the school day
- Facilitate clear and accurate communication between the student, teachers, peers, and school administrators
- Support the student’s participation in classroom activities, special events, and peer interactions
- Collaborate with instructional staff to ensure the student’s educational needs are met effectively
- Adhere to school policies and maintain detailed records of daily activities as needed
Position Details:
- Full-time hours, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM to 2:50 PM
- 45-minute unpaid lunch break each day
