Skills & Experience Sought:

  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Proven experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially within school environments
  • Understanding of the unique needs of young learners
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families
  • Professionalism and reliability in maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken language to American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa for a kindergarten student throughout the school day
  • Facilitate clear and accurate communication between the student, teachers, peers, and school administrators
  • Support the student’s participation in classroom activities, special events, and peer interactions
  • Collaborate with instructional staff to ensure the student’s educational needs are met effectively
  • Adhere to school policies and maintain detailed records of daily activities as needed

Position Details:

  • Full-time hours, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM to 2:50 PM
  • 45-minute unpaid lunch break each day
  • Contract-based opportunity
