Your expertise will help foster communication and learning alongside a variety of students, from small groups to broader classroom environments.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting in educational settings
  • Experience supporting students at the elementary level, ideally from early childhood through third grade
  • Ability to adapt communication style for mainstream, DHH self-contained, and small-group situations
  • Understanding of Deaf culture, as well as the needs of students using related services
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with teachers, specialists, and other service providers

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and activities to ensure access to the curriculum for DHH students
  • Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and related service staff in a variety of settings
  • Support students in mainstream and self-contained environments, adapting to dynamic daily schedules
  • Provide language and communication assistance during small-group instruction, therapy sessions, and individual support moments
  • Assist with classroom integration and inclusion, ensuring all students participate fully in school life
