Position Overview
Soliant Education is seeking dedicated Travel Educational American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters for multiple full-time contract opportunities across the United States during the 2026–2027 school year. These school-based assignments support K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing in public school settings. Current travel openings include positions in Aurora, Illinois; Burbank, Illinois; Hartford, Connecticut; Rock Hall, Maryland; Soldotna, Alaska; Gilman, Illinois; Charleston, South Carolina; West Palm Beach, Florida; Fort Smith, Arkansas; Chico, California; Charlotte, North Carolina; Columbia, South Carolina; Columbus, Georgia; Denver, Colorado; and Augusta, Georgia. Grade levels vary by assignment and include K-5, 6-12, and K-12 caseloads. Specific details regarding student needs, classroom environments, and district expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
Compensation and Benefits
All opportunities are full-time positions with a minimum of 30 hours per week throughout the school year, which is approximately 36 weeks in duration. Compensation packages include a competitive hourly rate combined with tax-free travel stipends for eligible travelers. Weekly earnings typically range from $1,100 to $1,600 depending on assignment location, prior experience, certification level, and other qualifying factors.

Responsibilities
Travel Educational ASL Interpreters will provide interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in classroom and school-related settings. Responsibilities include facilitating communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers using American Sign Language and other communication methods as appropriate.
Additional duties may include interpreting during classroom instruction, testing situations, extracurricular activities, meetings, and school events. Interpreters are expected to maintain confidentiality, support student accessibility needs, and collaborate with teachers and related service providers to promote academic success and inclusion. Assignments and student needs will vary depending on the school district and grade level.
Requirements
Applicants must hold an active Educational Interpreter certification or equivalent credential required by the assignment state. EIPA scores, RID certification, or state-specific interpreter credentials may be required depending on the district. Candidates must also be eligible to obtain any additional state licensure or clearances associated with the assignment location if they do not already possess them.
Previous experience working in educational settings is strongly preferred. Strong communication skills, professionalism, flexibility, and the ability to adapt to different school environments are essential for success in these travel-based roles.
