We are seeking a Sign Language Interpreter for a school-based position in the Chicago, IL area for NSY. This role will support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing by providing clear and consistent interpreting services throughout the school day.

The interpreter will help ensure students have full access to classroom instruction, school activities, peer interactions, and communication with staff.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide sign language interpreting services for students during classroom instruction and school-related activities.
Support student access to academic content, social interactions, and daily school routines.
Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and school leadership.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all school settings.
Adapt interpreting support based on each student’s communication needs.
Promote student independence, participation, and inclusion within the school environment.

Requirements:
Must meet Illinois requirements for school-based Sign Language Interpreters.
Experience working with school-aged students preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and professionalism required.

Compensation for this position ranges from $28.39 to $48.39. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
