This role involves travel to schools in the Chula Vista, CA area, providing vital communication assistance to enhance learning and inclusion for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate clear and effective communication between Deaf or hard-of-hearing students and teachers, staff, and peers
  • Interpret lessons, conversations, and other communications using American Sign Language (ASL) or other appropriate sign language systems
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure accessibility of instructional materials and activities
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all interactions
  • Travel to various school locations as required to deliver consistent support

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with certification preferred
  • Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational environments
