Your workday runs from 8:05 AM to 3:35 PM, providing ample opportunity to facilitate communication and inclusion throughout the entire school day.
As a valued interpreter, your expertise will serve students in mainstream classes, specialized DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) settings, and during sessions with service providers. Your day will be varied and impactful, interpreting for different students and helping to bridge communication gaps, ensuring every child has equal access to education and support.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Sign Language Interpreter with experience in educational settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Familiarity with working alongside teachers and specialists in EC-3rd grade environments
- Ability to adapt to the needs of various students and settings
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Knowledge of Deaf culture and best practices in educational interpretation
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and accurate interpretation for students, staff, and service providers throughout the day
- Facilitate communication between DHH students, peers, and teachers in mainstream and specialized settings
- Support student participation in classroom activities and special services
