Bring your passion for supporting Deaf and hard-of-hearing students to a rewarding contract opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming academic year. This full-time, on-site role is located in a vibrant school community near Clermont, FL, aligning you with students in a one-on-one educational setting. With hours scheduled at 37.5 per week (8 hours per day, 30 minutes unpaid), you'll play a key part in facilitating communication and learning for K-12 students.

Highlights:

  • Immediate need: Interviews are likely to be scheduled next week, following anticipated budget approval on June 8th.
  • Contract dates: August 10, 2026 – May 28, 2027.
  • Caseload: One-on-one assignment with a student (specific school(s) assignment to be determined).
  • On-site work required—virtual/remote services are not applicable for this role.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Eligible to interpret within educational environments per state or district guidelines.
  • EIPA level 3 or greater OR
  • Certification: RID (NIC, NAD), Educational Certification K-12, or OTC.
  • Recent experience in school settings preferred.
  • Ability to complete a two-part district onboarding and provide necessary documentation (such as contracted hire requirements and procedural agreements) for placement.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct 1:1 sign language interpretation services during instructional and school-related activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to promote inclusive learning.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
  • Participate in school meetings as needed to support student success.
