What We’re Looking For:

• Valid NAD Certification or EIPA Certification with a score of 4.0 or higher
• Proficient skills in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Prior experience interpreting for children or youth in educational settings is highly valued
• Strong professionalism, reliability, and collaborative approach
• Ability to adapt communication style to meet diverse student needs
• Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality and upholding ethical interpreting standards

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation for classroom instruction, assemblies, extracurricular activities, and any school-sponsored events involving K-12 students
• Work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and school staff to facilitate an inclusive learning environment
• Accurately interpret spoken and signed communication while ensuring full access to curriculum and social interactions
• Support language development and participation for deaf and hard of hearing students
• Foster a respectful and supportive atmosphere that promotes equity and student engagement
• Adhere to role boundaries as an interpreter and maintain confidentiality at all times
