Desired Qualifications:
- NAD Certification or EIPA Certification with a score of 4.0 or above (required)
- Proficiency in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English
- Previous experience interpreting in school settings is preferred
- Ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and staff
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear and accurate communication between students, educators, and peers using ASL
- Interpret classroom instruction, school events, and activities for K-12 students
- Collaborate with educational teams to adapt interpreting strategies for various learning environments
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards
- Support students’ social and academic inclusion across the school day
This position entails working at a single campus with a consistent schedule of 32.5 hours per week. Your expertise will ensure access and participation for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, empowering them to thrive academically and socially.
