Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (as required by the state of Idaho)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience in educational settings preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• An adaptable attitude and passion for supporting students
• Flexibility to travel and adjust to new school environments

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa for deaf or hard-of-hearing students and staff
• Facilitate classroom interactions and ensure clear communication during lessons, meetings, and school events
• Partner with teachers, families, and administrators to ensure each student’s needs are met
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed
