Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpretation techniques.
• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID or EIPA preferred).
• Experience working within K-12 school settings or with children/adolescents.
• Strong understanding of deaf and hard-of-hearing culture and educational needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear and effective communication between students, staff, and stakeholders using ASL.
• Interpret classroom instruction, activities, meetings, and events.
• Support students’ educational access and social integration.
• Collaborate with educators and other professionals to support Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Maintain strict ethical and confidentiality standards.
• Adapt to changing classroom environments and student needs.
