Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpretation techniques.
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID or EIPA preferred).
- Experience working within K-12 school settings or with children/adolescents.
- Strong understanding of deaf and hard-of-hearing culture and educational needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between students, staff, and stakeholders using ASL.
- Interpret classroom instruction, activities, meetings, and events.
- Support students’ educational access and social integration.
- Collaborate with educators and other professionals to support Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Maintain strict ethical and confidentiality standards.
- Adapt to changing classroom environments and student needs.
