Qualifications:
- State and/or national certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (EIPA, RID, or similar)
- Experience interpreting in educational or school settings preferred
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Collaborative spirit and adaptability to diverse student and teacher needs
- Excellent communication and listening skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate sign language interpretation during classroom instruction, meetings, and school activities
- Facilitate clear communication between students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing and staff/peers
- Support individualized education plans (IEPs) as part of the student support team
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold student advocacy
