Sign Language Interpreter in Conyers, GA

Two skilled Sign Language Interpreters are needed for a contract assignment just south of Atlanta, with opportunities at both elementary and high school levels. Qualifications & Experience:

• 3.5 EIPA or higher
• Eligibility for the GaPSC Educational Interpreter Certificate
• Proficiency in American Sign Language and educational interpreting best practices
• Experience supporting students in K–12 settings preferred
• Professionalism, adaptability, and strong collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, educators, and families

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, accurate sign language interpreting for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
• Foster effective communication between students, teachers, and classmates
• Interpret during lectures, discussions, school events, and extracurricular activities
• Contribute to Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings as needed
• Support an inclusive classroom environment that promotes student participation and learning
• Uphold standards of confidentiality and ethics in all interactions

Position Details:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Contract, for the academic year
• Openings available in both elementary and high school settings
• Conveniently located just 20 minutes south of Atlanta
