Qualifications:

  • EIPA score of 4.0 or higher, or valid RID/NAD Certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing sign language services, preferably in an educational setting
  • Familiarity with interpreting for various grade levels and adapting signing style to meet students’ age and language needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for successful collaboration with teachers, staff, and families
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics at all times

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation in classrooms and during school-related activities for assigned students (1:1 or within group settings)
  • Collaborate with teachers and special education teams to ensure student success and access to learning materials
  • Support IEP goals and adapt educational content for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Maintain clear and timely documentation as required by school policies
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive school atmosphere
