This contract role runs from late August 2026 through mid-July 2027, with specific caseloads and school assignments determined to best match your skills and preferences. Candidates are encouraged to share their caseload interests and home zip code to ensure an optimal placement.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Sign Language Interpreter licensure
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience supporting children in educational environments strongly preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving student and classroom needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation between students, staff, and peers in a variety of classroom and school settings
  • Facilitate communication for DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) students, supporting full participation in academic and social activities
  • Work in tandem with classroom teachers and other support staff to ensure effective instructional delivery
  • Engage in team meetings and support the creation of accessible educational materials
  • Maintain accurate records related to student support and interpretation provided
