Step into a meaningful contract opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting educational access for students. This full-time, 1:1 assignment runs from now until June 18, 2027, working 180 student calendar days at 7 hours per day, for a total of 35 hours per week. You'll make a positive impact each day, ensuring clear communication and engagement for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum score of 75% on EIPA written exam, with either a 4.0 or above on EIPA performance OR hold an active NIC or RID certification
- At least two years of recent experience as an interpreter (preferred)
- Background in supporting students in 1:1 and/or small group educational settings
- Ability to foster collaboration and a supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services in a high school setting
- Facilitate accurate and professional communication between students, educators, and peers
- Adapt interpreting approaches to meet individual needs within classroom activities and small group interactions
- Adhere to student confidentiality, professional standards, and school policies
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to student success plans
