Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Crystal Lake, IL

This part-time position is conveniently located near Crystal Lake, IL, with a consistent schedule from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The assignment runs from ASAP through May 30, 2027, giving you the chance to build meaningful connections and provide essential communication support over several school years.

Key Qualifications:

• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher with ISBE certification, or a minimum 3.0 EIPA with IBSE approval
• Professional experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially in educational settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, educators, and school staff
• Ability to adapt interpreting style to meet educational goals and individual student needs
• Competence and sensitivity in supporting students in a mainstream classroom

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom lessons, discussions, and activities for a high school student
• Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers
• Provide interpreting services for academic content, school events, and related activities
• Assist the student in fully accessing curriculum and participating in all aspects of the school day
• Adhere to district and state guidelines, maintaining confidentiality at all times
• Actively participate in meetings or planning sessions related to student accommodations
