Key Qualifications:

• 3.5 or higher EIPA score required
• Must meet eligibility for the GaPSC Educational Interpreter Certificate
• Strong knowledge of educational settings and age-appropriate interpreting for both elementary and high school students
• Effective communicator, able to facilitate clear understanding between students, teachers, and staff
• Professionalism, punctuality, and compassion for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa for students in classrooms, school events, and during extracurricular activities
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to ensure students’ academic and social inclusion
• Foster positive, respectful relationships with students to support educational and personal growth
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information and educational records
• Adhere to district and state guidelines regarding ethical interpreting practices and educational standards
