Help foster communication and student success by bringing your expertise as a full-time Sign Language Interpreter to a dynamic school environment. Work collaboratively to create a supportive and accessible educational experience for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing. This contract position offers stability with a consistent 37.5-hour work week and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Hold national certification (such as EIPA, RID, or NIC), or meet state credentialing requirements
  • Prior experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
  • Flexibility to work with students of various ages, from elementary to high school
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism in collaborative team contexts

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide sign language interpretation for students during classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and extra-curricular events
  • Ensure effective two-way communication between students, teachers, and staff
  • Adapt interpreting strategies to meet individual student needs and learning styles
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines for interpreters
  • Actively contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when appropriate
  • Collaborate with educators and support services to enhance student engagement and inclusion
