Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Demotte, IN

As a full-time contract professional, you’ll work 1:1 with a student, facilitating communication and supporting inclusive learning. Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (EIPA or RID credentials preferred)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Prior experience working in educational or school environments highly valued
• Comfortable providing 1:1 interpretation and support for students
• Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, and a commitment to student success
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and other professionals

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver real-time ASL interpretation between students, staff, and peers during classroom instruction and school activities
• Facilitate effective communication to ensure an inclusive educational environment
• Assist the student in accessing curriculum, activities, and social interactions
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
• Prepare for classroom topics or activities as needed to ensure seamless interpretation
• Collaborate with educators regarding student progress and communication needs
