Sign Language Interpreter in Denton, NC

This contract role serves one elementary student, ensuring access to learning through high-quality interpretation in a school-based setting. The assignment runs full-time (37.5 hours per week) through the end of the school year.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Hold an active NCDPI SLI license (proof of licensure required upon submission)
• EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
• Proficiency with ECATS systems
• Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, ideally in educational settings
• Professional, collaborative, and able to maintain confidentiality

Role Responsibilities:

• Facilitate effective communication between the student and school staff using American Sign Language (ASL)
• Interpret classroom instruction and school activities to ensure the student’s full participation
• Collaborate with educators and support personnel to align communication strategies with the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
• Maintain accurate records and complete required ECATS documentation
• Foster an inclusive, supportive learning atmosphere for the student
