Key Qualifications:
- Current EIPA score of 4.0 or higher, ensuring top-quality interpretation services
- Proven experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, particularly within educational environments
- Strong understanding of deaf culture and the unique communication needs of elementary-aged students
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, supporting both the student and educational staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear, accurate interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL) for a single elementary-aged student throughout the school day
- Facilitate effective communication between the student and teachers, peers, and school staff during classroom activities and school events
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to enhance the student’s learning experience and inclusion
- Maintain regular communication with educational teams regarding the student’s progress or needs
- Adhere to all school policies and standards related to student welfare and interpreter ethics
This is a contract opportunity, covering the full academic year from August 6, 2026, to May 27, 2027, with a 37.5-hour workweek. The role is strictly in-person, maximizing direct engagement and impact.
