Sign Language Interpreter in Denver, CO

This full-time, flexible school-year contract opportunity offers a dynamic, onsite role working within both special education and general education environments, ranging from mild to severe needs. As an itinerant interpreter, you will collaborate with multiple schools, facilitating communication and fostering inclusive learning for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Qualifications:

• Valid authorization as an educational sign language interpreter in the state, fulfilling CDE requirements.
• Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or above, as required for assignment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting American Sign Language in K-12 educational settings.
• Comfort adapting to multiple school sites and flexible in various classroom dynamics.
• Experience supporting a broad spectrum of student needs, from mild to severe.

Responsibilities:

• Provide real-time sign language interpretation for students, staff, and faculty in both special education and general education settings.
• Maintain professional standards aligned with State and District policy for interpreting services.
• Travel between assigned schools as part of an itinerant schedule, ensuring consistent support across sites.
• Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and related service providers to foster inclusive classroom communication.
• Uphold confidentiality and ethical practices within all interpreting assignments.
