Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a skilled Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic school setting near Denver, CO. This full-time, full school-year contract position serves students across a spectrum of educational needs, from mild to severe, in both general and special education settings. Work onsite as part of an itinerant team, collaborating with staff and engaging with learners at multiple school sites.

Qualifications:

  • Valid EIPA score of 3.5 or above is required
  • Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in K-12 settings strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with both special education and general education needs
  • Adaptability for working at various campuses throughout the district
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with students, educators, and families
  • Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality and professionalism

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken language to sign language (and vice versa) for students across diverse classroom environments
  • Support access to the curriculum, classroom discussions, and school activities for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and administrators to ensure appropriate supports
  • Adjust interpretations for a variety of learning levels as required by student needs
  • Travel between school sites as an itinerant staff member
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district policies
