Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter for the upcoming academic year. This onsite assignment begins August 12, 2026, and continues through June 4, 2027, offering a consistent, full-time schedule of 35 hours per week. You’ll provide focused, one-on-one sign language interpretation for a K–12 student at a single school site, with the specific assignment tailored to your preferences and experience.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current and active Sign Language Interpreter certification/license for California
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
- Previous experience working with school-aged children, ideally within K–12 environments
- Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, students, and staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and clear sign language interpretation for a K–12 student throughout the school day
- Facilitate communication between the student and their peers, teachers, and other school staff
- Adapt interpreting techniques according to the student’s needs and learning environment
- Support both academic and social inclusion to foster a positive educational experience
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines and all relevant regulations
- Participate in student support meetings or team collaborations as needed
