Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students in an educational setting. In this contract position, you'll work onsite providing one-on-one sign language interpretation for a 5th grade student in a Life Skills classroom. This role offers a consistent full-time schedule, with 35 hours per week from August 19, 2026, to June 2, 2027, during regular school hours of 7:20 am to 2:10 pm.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Demonstrated experience as a sign language interpreter, ideally in a school environment
  • Minimum EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or above (score required for consideration)
  • Adept at supporting students with diverse learning needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers and staff
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to the duration of the contract

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation for a single 5th grade student, facilitating communication between the student, peers, and staff in a Life Skills classroom
  • Foster an inclusive learning environment through clear interpretation and support
  • Assist teachers and support personnel to address the educational, social, and emotional needs of the student
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times
