Qualifications & Experience:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting in academic environments
- Ability to interpret classroom instruction, school activities, and student interactions
- Experience supporting students in K-12 schools is highly desired
- Familiarity with IEP goals and working collaboratively with educators and staff
- Professional certification or state licensure as required
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa for students, staff, and families
- Ensure effective communication during classes, assemblies, meetings, and school programs
- Adjust delivery methods to accommodate individual student needs and learning styles
- Work closely with teachers, special education professionals, and support personnel
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality consistent with school policies and guidelines
