Utilize your knowledge as a Sign Language Interpreter and experience with American Sign Language (ASL) to enhance student engagement, learning, and participation. You'll be a vital part of the educational process, collaborating with teachers, staff, and students.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proficiency in ASL with demonstrated experience interpreting in educational environments
- Relevant certification or licensure to serve as a sign language interpreter in a school setting
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, supporting both academic and social settings
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working closely with educators and support staff
- Flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, school activities, and individualized education plan (IEP) meetings for students requiring ASL services
- Work directly with teachers to ensure student understanding and participation in all aspects of their school experience
- Support teachers in developing accessible lesson plans and materials as needed
- Help foster a supportive and engaging environment for students using ASL
