Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current certification with a 4.0 EIPA or national RID credential is required
  • Proven experience interpreting in school environments, especially in one-on-one settings
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language and a deep understanding of Deaf culture
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Ability to adapt approach based on individual student needs

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clear, accurate interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language in all academic and school-related settings for your designated student
  • Support effective communication between student, teachers, and peers to foster an inclusive environment
  • Collaborate with educational staff to ensure the student’s IEP goals and accommodations are met
  • Monitor and document student progress, communicating observations as needed with the educational team
  • Maintain ethical standards and professional boundaries at all times
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions as required
