Qualifications & Experience:
- Current certification with a 4.0 EIPA or national RID credential is required
- Proven experience interpreting in school environments, especially in one-on-one settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language and a deep understanding of Deaf culture
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information
- Ability to adapt approach based on individual student needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear, accurate interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language in all academic and school-related settings for your designated student
- Support effective communication between student, teachers, and peers to foster an inclusive environment
- Collaborate with educational staff to ensure the student’s IEP goals and accommodations are met
- Monitor and document student progress, communicating observations as needed with the educational team
- Maintain ethical standards and professional boundaries at all times
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions as required
