ASL Interpreter | Folsom, California

Step into an impactful role supporting student success as a sign language interpreter working 1:1 with a 4th-grade student in a general education classroom. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every school day by helping to foster both academic growth and social engagement through clear, accessible communication.

Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule, providing 30 hours per week from 7:50 am to 2:15 pm alongside an energetic classroom and school community. Your expertise will contribute directly to the student’s educational access and daily confidence.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• EIPA score of 4.0 or higher, or demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) as a paraprofessional
• Previous experience as a sign language interpreter in educational settings is highly valued
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with teachers and support staff
• Commitment to supporting equitable communication access and inclusive education
• Passion for working one-on-one with elementary-aged children to foster growth and self-advocacy

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the dedicated interpreter for a 4th-grade student throughout the school day
• Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers in all classroom and school activities
• Support the academic and social development of the student within the general education environment
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
