Step into a dynamic educational environment by providing valuable support as an onsite Sign Language Interpreter for students and staff in a school setting near Fort Benning, GA. This full-time, contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year, beginning August 3, 2026, and ending May 21, 2027, with possible pre- and post-planning days. You will work in a collaborative, student-focused environment dedicated to fostering access, inclusion, and academic success for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

What we’re looking for:

  • Active Georgia Educator Certificate for Sign Language Interpreters
  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (required)
  • Prior experience in educational or K-12 settings highly desirable
  • Strong professional communication and documentation skills, including daily service logs
  • Ability to work effectively onsite (remote/VOCO candidates not eligible for this opening)
  • Flexibility with student age group preferences—caseload and placement will be discussed during interviews to align with your strengths and interests

Key responsibilities:

  • Accurately interpret spoken and signed communication between students, educators, and peers
  • Support students’ engagement in classroom learning, school activities, and individual sessions
  • Complete required daily documentation in a timely, professional manner
  • Collaborate with instructional teams, special education staff, and administrators
  • Participate in planning sessions and professional development activities as needed
